Star Trek and painting....

So I'm not sure I'm done... but I thought I'd paint a star trek painting...

I like how it's turned out so far, and tho the picture doesn't show it to well, depending on the lighting the background kinda shimmers... which I thought was pretty cool... in both pictures taken the stars don't look as good as they do on the painting... but you get the idea...

Let me know what you think! should I indulge the artists desire to always fix a painting, or should I leave it be? What would you have done instead?
